End of course work

The Course Completion Work (TCC) is a mandatory curricular component and, therefore, its completion is one of the requirements for obtaining the diploma. This is fundamental work for the synthesis and integration of knowledge, according to the National Curricular Guidelines (DCNs) for Engineering Courses.

The TCC can be carried out on a topic of interest to the student, who must contact the possible supervisor before the actual work begins. The TCC can be carried out in pairs, aiming to encourage cooperation, division of tasks and exchange of knowledge between students. It is important to highlight that scientific initiation and supervised internship reports do not replace the TCC. To enroll in TCC, the student must have completed a minimum of 180 credits.

At the end of the TCC, the student must submit the written version of the work, prepared in accordance with ABNT standards. In addition, the student must give an oral defense of the work before a panel made up of engineers. TCC defenses are open to the public and can be followed as disclosed below. General guidelines, forms and models about the TCC are provided by the course coordinator at the beginning of each semester, via Moodle.

The Civil Engineering Course frequently nominates the best works for awards granted by organizations and associations, such as the CREA-RJ Prize for Scientific and Technological Works (https://novoportal.crea-rj.org.br/premiocrea/).
