Professor Antonio Krishnamurti, from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), gave an interview to the news program RJ-TV, from Rede Globo de Televisão, in January 2024, in which he highlighted related problems to the pollution of the Acari River, in Baixada Fliminense in the State of Rio de Janeiro, and proposed solutions for the frequent floods that plague that region.
